Myspace vs Facebook
The battle continues between the two giants of the Social Networking market. As you may know Myspace is and continues to be the most dominate Social Networking site on the Internet though Facebook is growing faster. Facebook is still only about 50% of the size of Myspace so they have a long ways to go.
Lately the news has not been encouraging for Facebook. There was the snafu over the “beacon†advertising plan on Facebook which most users thought was an invasion of privacy and was stopped because of the backlash. Opening up Facebook to developers was once looked at as a great draw for the social media site but now there have been some rumblings about this program. People are getting tired of the cluttered home pages and the invites to use these applications.
Myspace still has a strong draw since they allow users to modify their profiles anyway that they want by using an assortment of Glitter Graphics. If your team was going to the super bowl you would be able to find Myspace Backgrounds for your team. The options are endless if some Myspace Sister Comments for your sister. It will be interesting to see if the new Myspace developer program will be a success and if they will be able to avoid some of the pitfalls that Facebook has encountered.
